Gimme Mo, Mo, Mo-vember

Trivia with purpose, and fun with facial hair

Remember, Remember…

November is upon us! With it comes holidays, sweater weather, and a stark reminder of where we were a scant year ago… ANYWAY, with all the holidays and such this month, that does mean some complications for trivia. First - There will be no trivia on the 4th Tuesday as it lands on the same week as Thanksgiving and many of us will either be traveling or hosting get-togethers of some variety. Second - The second Tuesday of the month lands smack dab on Veterans Day. Fun fact, the Albany Veterans Day parade claims to be the largest such parade west of the Mississippi. As a result, traffic in Albany for the first half of the day is… bad. So bad. But by the time trivia begins on the 11th, things should be clear. Just, plan accordingly and check the Google for drive times.

Moustache Night - A Movember to Remember (11/11)

Movember is here, so we shall commemorate that fact with a night all about a hairy upper lip. From Freddie Mercury to Eddie Murphy, from Emiliano Zapata to Ron F***ing Swanson, let’s celebrate the moustache with a night of trivia & fundraising! Every person who shows me a receipt for a Movember donation gets bonus points, or you can buy a bonus by putting cash in a bucket for that express purpose! I even made a Movember team! Join the team and make a donation, and I’ll make sure your efforts are rewarded on trivia night. Check it out at the following link! Moustache!

NO TRIVIA on 11/25!

It’s 2 days before Thanksgiving - you’re on your own.

Fun Fact: Movember started in 2003 with a couple of mates in Australia growing out a ‘stache in the month of November for a laugh. But by the next year, they had turned their goof into a fundraising opportunity, raising the single largest one-time donation to Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (PCFA) that they had received at the time. Today, Movember funds projects including cancer research, mental health initiatives, and parental resources. And something that jumps out to me, a trans-femme They/Them, they go out of their way to be relatively gender inclusive, celebrating their “6,861,045 Mo Bros, Mo Sisters and Mo's since 2003,” so that’s nice.
